Happy New Year! My 2013 favorites

I have been having a VERY lazy day. I usually try to use this day to do things  like clean out the medicine cabinet & bathroom drawers, purge the junk drawer, and general organizational tasks. I didn't come close to that level of productivity today. Ever since the NHL started airing the Winter Classic Outdoor Game on New Year's Day, my good intentions have gone by the wayside. I did manage to clean the kitchen while I got sucked into the TV vortex, but that's it. And since I have friends coming over to crop tomorrow, those drawers will have to wait.

What does NOT have to wait, however, is my favourite cards of 2013.  Due to some personal issues, I didn't blog in January or February, so my favourites start in March.

March

I love this little card; you can find the details here. At the time I posted it, I didn't think I would use the stamp enough to justify purchasing it. I have since had a change of heart. I bought it one day when the scrapbook store had a sale on stamps.

April

I love the bright colours on this card. It's one of a variety I made for a swap. Details, and the other cards, available here.

June

That isn't a typo... for some reason I didn't do any blogging in May. My favourite card from June is here

July

You know it's gotta be Christmas in July.

August

Playing with punches... lots more cards here.

September

I love this card, even though the sketch gave me fits. Have a look here.

October

I only posted once this month, but I love the card. It's part of a set.

December

I actually did post in November, but that card has received a lot of love. I'd rather share links to some of my favourite December cards that seem to have been overlooked.

From Christmas Eve

Another wreath card , here.

A card I loved, made at the LSS

My plan is to be back tomorrow night with my 2014 goals, as well as some projects I hope to make tomorrow.

Day 31 Year in Review - 2012

Yes, you read that right. I figured since I was so sporadic in my blogging from late 2012 to mid 2013, and I never did a Year in Review for 2012, I'd do both years. I'll do 2012 today, and 2013 tomorrow. Then on January 2nd, I'll post my goals for 2014, and maybe a card or two I made this year that I haven't posted.

May 2012

You can find the original post for this card here, along with a bonus project.

This snowman card card is one of my absolute favorites. The Merry Monday challenges inspire me. I am going to try to play more regularly in 2014. Original post here. I was disappointed this post didn't get a wee bit more love; I thought the card turned out really cute.

June 2012

I posted two cards in this post, and this one was my favourite. The other one was a good idea in theory, but I don't know that it worked in practice. You can see both here.

July 2012

July 2012 tied for the month with the most posts of the year for me. I played with the set All God's Children a lot - I was on a Christmas in July' kick. My favorite of all the cards was this one, posted originally here

August 2012

August was the other month in 2012 where I posted five times. I actually loved all my August cards, but I want to limit this post to 6 cards. I made a lot of cute Christmas cards this month, but I'm going to feature a birthday card here. Check out the original post  to see some other cards featuring punches and other Big Shot products.

September 2012

September was the last month I blogged in 2012. I actually only managed two posts. The last half of the year was rough. You can see this card, and a couple more, here.

So there you have a look back at the cards I loved in 2012. I would love it if you'd check out the rest of my 2012 cards, too. Just go to the drop down menu for my blog archive. It's on the bottom left of the front page.

I hope everyone has a fun, safe New Year's Eve!

Top 12 of 2011

I saw this event at a blog thanks to Splitcoast and since I was thinking of doing a 'Favorite cards of 2011 post anyway, I decided I would participate. I can't get over how tough it was to decide on my favorite twelve cards.

A few things to note:

-When I was choosing my 12, I had about 16 I loved. To narrow it down, I tried to choose ones that didn't get many comments when they were originally posted.

-I've included links to the original post. If you want to see details re: products used, that is where you will find the info.

-I have taken the time to go through all my blog posts and improve my labelling. The list of labels is on the left hand side of my blog. I do my best to label all my cards both as 'cards' in general and by set name. I'd love it if you took some time to explore my blog and make some comments. Always looking for more subscribers and followers, too. I got my 30th yesterday. Woo hoo! I hope to hit 50 in 2012.

On to the cards:

#12 - Original post Jan 7th If I had added just a bit more bling to this card, it would rank higher. As it is, I still really like it. No matter how much I wish it wasn't the case, I am a clean and simple cardmaker.

#10 and #11 Original post here I really should have gotten around to colouring these... other than that I think they're cute. I do still have them so there's still time...

#9 Original post here. This poor card got NO love. I was said.I thought it was cute.

#8 Original post here. Admittedly, I should've coloured Mr. Froggy.

#7 Original post here. This card is one of the few where I didn't use ANY stamps.

#6 Original post here.  I love how the colours of this one turned out. Such a great girly card.

#5 Original post here, I adore this card. It was disappointing that it got no love.
#3, 4 Original post here.  These two are a couple more class cards I tweaked.

#2 Original post here. I love how this turned out; I was just fooling around with scraps.
#1 Original post here, This card was done in a class, but I tweaked it. Turned out super cute, if I do say so myself! This set is now one of my all time favorites.

Catered Crop - Favorite Holiday Card

There's a challenge going on at Catered Crop that I really like. All month they've been giving us the chance to post our favorite cards of the past year. Each week there has been a different theme and this week it is holiday cards. If I am reading correctly you are allowed to backlink, too. I decided to do a separate post with links to the original post because that is what everyone else seems to be doing.

The rules:
- Link up your favorite Holiday projects from 2011. If you want, you can post one you make this week.
-Leave a comment on the projects of the two people who posted in front of you.
-The deadline is 8:00 PM Saturday, Dec 31. A new one will start on Jan. 1 The theme will be encouragement cards.
-You can enter as often as you want

Here is my card. The original post is here. I remember at the time that I was disappointed that this blog post got no comments, because I really, really, liked this card. I love the colours, the paper, the image, and the overall design. I used a really good sketch.

I also really, really loved this card. The original post is here. I am linking the original posts in case people want to see the card recipes.
