I am officially hooked on sketch challenges. This sketch is from The Operators at the Stampin 411 blog. These challenges are a good stretch for me because they require participants to use only Stampin;' Up products. I rarely do that with my cards, preferring to use SU! for the card base and then dig into my scrap stash for the other pieces. Of course, I still fall in love with at least 2 packs of SU! DSP/year. So I have a quarter of a Crop Hopper full of dsp that I haven't touched. And I'm not getting rid of it, because I genuinely do love it. The most I have done is purged out a few duplicate sheets that I didn't love enough to need a second piece.
Because it's so foreign to me to use all SU! produces in my cards I decided I would combine the Saturday Sketch challenge and the Color Challenge. In this case, the colour combo, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz is one of my favorite combos for boy birthday cards. What I found, though, in searching for SU dsp that fit the challenge, is that the combo can work for a feminine card. This card will be for a friend's birthday.
Note that the green cardstock is Pear Pizzazz, but the green flowers on the dsp are NOT... this dsp is very old. As I see the two colours together, I think my friend is right - I don't REALLY need a Pear Pizzazz ink pad. I'll probably have to get a bit more of the cardstock though.
After all, a girl can never have too much green...
Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Pear Pizzazz
DSP: Unknown
Misc: Tempting Turquoise ribbon, Designer Label Punch, Curly Label Punch
