I am submitting this card for two challenge: Card Patterns 119 and Crazy 4 Challenges 91 (C4C91)
Have you ever noticed that sometimes the sketches that look the simplest are the ones that end up being the most difficult?
I wanted to use a stamped image and I just couldn't make it work. I had to use whatever circle punches I could find and most of the ones currently in the basket at the scrapbook store were bigger than I wanted. The two side circles just looked wrong with the larger centre circle.
Originally, the colours of the circles were going to be reversed, with the word 'wish' using the brown side of the paper and the accent circles showing the patterned side. Of course, I didn't test the punch on a scrap and out it in the wrong way up - only to discover I had no more of that patterned paper left. That's the risk one takes when using scraps, I guess. :(
So I learned two lessons today:
1) As much as I love the fact that my membership allows me to use the tools at the scrapbook store, I really should break down and buy just a couple of circle and oval punches or Nestabilities. Since I'm a CAS card maker, I probably don't need Nesties. I don't do more than one mat on an image.
2)If you're using a punch you've never seen before, test it on a scrap!
