I'm still here...

Despite my lack of blogging, I have been crafting. I just had a really buys fall so I didn't have the time or energy to post anything.

When my uncle died in August, it was a bit of a wake up call for me. I was reminded of my word for the year, and I decided to follow a dream I've had since I was young. I ran for office. When I was a kid, I had ambitions of a full fledged provincial or federal political career; my thinking has since changed. I am most passionate about children and education, so I ran for a spot on the school board. I'm proud to say I was successful. I'm extremely grateful to my family and my friends for their support.

The campaign ran from essentially September through to November 15th. Right after the election, my best friend and I went to Disneyland for essentially a week. I'm not exaggerating; the election was Saturday November 15th. My mom drove me down to Victoria the next day. My friend and I flew to California on Monday. We returned on Saturday, November 22nd. It was a terrific trip, aside from the fact that I found myself REALLY ill on the Friday. Luckily we'd seen most of what we wanted to see (though I missed out on dong Soaring Over California and maybe a few other rides in California Adventure... sniff...). And at least I recovered in the one day, so I wasn't ill while travelling home.

Once I got home, I did have some time for crafting. Truthfully, throughout the summer and the fall, I made time to keep crafting; I've learned the importance of self care. Still, there was a lot to do to prepare for the start of our term in office. We were officially sworn in on December 8th.

Today I have a card that I am submitting for two challenges:

Shopping Our Stash - 3 patterned papers
Showcase Your Style - Use diecuts

In this case, the die cut was made by cutting out the shape on the Cricut and then using a matching Close To My Heart stamp set for the sentiment.

All products for the card are from CTMH.

I will definitely be back later this week!
