LNS 224 & Use It Tuesdays 57

Hey all... hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. T minus 2 days until Fathers Day. I have my dad's card ready, and since there are some masculine card challenges on right now I thought I'd post it in advance. I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Use It Tuesday Challenge 57 - Masculine
Late Night Stampers Challenge 224: Father's Day/Masculine

The Happy Father's Day is inside... I didn't like how it looked on the front, given the text stamp used in the collage.

This was such a fun card to make. It was my first attempt at the ombre technique. There are lots of good tutorials for this technique on the internet. My version uses ink pads; when I do it again I think I'll likely try markers. I didn't have as much control using the pad as I you get with markers.

Not much is going on right now. I finally got out to one of my cousin's softball games recently. So glad she has started playing again. The wrap up tourney was supposed to be this weekend, but since they lost some games due to rain, they're having  having 2 make up games next week and then having the final tourney on the 23rd. We still don't know the game times... I'm hoping it's in the morning or later in the afternoon; I have to attend a baby shower midday. I was reminded of that today on the phone with my mother. So good to have them home; they were away on a cruise. I always worry a little bit when they're gone. That said, they are home, oh, 3 days earlier than I expected.

Guess I should get to doing that final tidy-up I was going to do Monday... But first my challenge card. You can't see it, but it has some of the SU shimmer paint spritzed on it.

Card Details: All products Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Pistachio Pudding, Soft Suede
Ink: Soft Suede, River Rock, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Stamps: French Foliage
Other:   Spritz (That's not the name but I'm drawing a blank!)

And because I can, a picture of J. in her softball uniform. New colours and a new number (9) this season. Still the same awesome pitching, fielding and batting. She got a triple and a single that night.

Such a lovely card! Love the spritz! Glad your parents had a good cruise! (I love them and even got married on one with my late hubby...) The rains have been bad here too, so glad your cousin got a game in!

Great Father's Day card. I like the one in the post below also.
Thanks for for stopping by my blog. Because you did, I now have a new technique to try. Ombre looks like a fun one to do.
