I miss summer!

I think the title says it all ;)

The air has a decided feel of fall to it, and I am NOT happy. I'm not someone who complains about the heat. I love it when it's 32 degrees Celsius  (that's 90, for my American readers), right up to about 35 (aka 95F). It can be 85C, sunny and gorgeous, and I'll be the person tossing a sweater on due to the slight wind that everyone else considers a lovely breeze. So this sudden downturn into the low 70s is NOT working for me. I can't figure out what to wear.

Given my longing to recapture summer, combined with some challenges I've seen, I decided to make this card:

The challenge that initially inspired me was the Anything Goes challenge at Use It Tuesdays. It was exactly the kick-start I needed to take my patterned scraps, the image (whcih was already stamped AND matted) and get the card done. I have a big ziploc bag with card pieces in it from my recent space reorg. You'll note it has no sentiment on the front - I do that purposely sometimes because I need lots of blank cards just to send people notes that could be anything from encouragement to thinking of you to thank you. Sometimes just before I send the card I pop a sentiment on and sometimes I don't.

Other challenge I'm entering the card in:

Stampin' Sisters In Christ - Bright Colours
Just Us Girls: Line Art Image Technique
Pile It On: Patterned Paper

I also want to take a moment and give a shout out to a wonderful blogger, Sherrill Graff. She's someone I've started talking to via a great group called Late Night Stampers. When you get a moment, pop over to her blog and check out her beautiful creations!

Card Details:
Cardstock: SU, Bazzill
DSP:Unknown
Stamp: Seaside
Other: Cuttlebug folder

What a lovely sea shell image! Reminds me of childhood memories as we combed the shores looking for them. Thanks for joining us at JUGS this week :)

I like the combination of warm and cool colours in your card. I'm glad you got to use up some of your patterned scraps. Leaving the sentiment out till later is a great idea! Thanks for joining us at Use It Tuesday!
