This first card is not one I made. I don't even know what stamp set it is... I just know it's Stampin' Up. My friend made it and I'm using it as a birthday card for someone. I'm blogging it because I think it's beautiful and I love the simple yet beautiful design... so I want to be able to CASE it in the future.
As I mentioned in my last post, it has been a busy couple of months. With all that's been going on - my sibs graduation and move, the floor hockey league I run, and just a cold I have not been able to completely shake - I have NOT been feeling creative. I admit I was very grateful in January and February to have a stash of birthday cards already made to use for the kids at church.
In fact, I think I have only made two cards so far in 2011... the one I posted in my previous post, and this purple one. I made the purple one for our Children's Ministry Director at church. I was scheduled to teach February 6th and I just couldn't do it. I missed the reminder email she usually sends out (that was when I was deep in the throes of the cold... at this point, I just have a nagging tickle in my throat) and given that, I found myself thinking, on the Saturday night, 'Nah, you must be on next week."
Not! By the time I got the call from her Sunday morning, which amounted to, "Are you ok? You know you're on today, right?" it was a bit late to get there, and even if I could've made it in time, I was in no shape to teach. I felt terrible about it! But she graciously said she would cover for me and I thanked her profusely - we just switched dates... luckily she is a member of the teaching rotation. And luckily I do Big Group, which is basically just the review of the month's virtue, a review of the memory verse, and a Bible story. We use a program called 252 Basics and I just love it!
I was so grateful that T. covered for me that I made her the purple card. The design is my 'fall back' layout when I'm either in a hurry or I just don't feel creative. This time, it was a lack of creativity - I had met my friend C. at the local scrapbook store, brought pretty much ALL my stuff, and forgot the card sketches I had printed. I hand cut the flower just using my SU scissors.
Card details: Cardstock: Bazzill; PP: My Mind's Eye; Stamps: Looks Like Spring (SU); Ink: Vintage Violet

Cute cards, love the CAS and the accordion flower on the second. Sounds like you are really reading along and getting through your list.
That's a great looking card and will be much appreciated! I have a similar 'fall back' design.....creativity needs to take a vacation occasionally and it's good to have a reliable understudy!
Hi...your cards are so pretty! The colors are soft and I love the ribbon on the top one. Very special.
Have a great day!
Ooooh, That first card was made with a set called "Send a Celebration". It's one of my favorite sets and that card is so pretty! I also really like your pretty purple card! The flower is fabulous! :)
Both cards are very pretty. I'm in the middle of a good book too.

Hi Tania! Cute cards. I popped over from the SCS blog comment thread and I signed up to follow you. Looking forward to seeing more of your creativity.
Tania that set is called 'Send a Celebration'.
Good job on the cards!
Aw, she will love the card and moreso because it made with love from you! Isn't it funny how we all have that certain design that just works for us?!
Hope you're feeling better! I love your purple card. It's beautiful.
