I have considered adding Easter and Thanksgiving cards but that could well be overload.
I also do birthday cards for all the children in Sunday School. Those don't get posted on the blog as often as I'd like, simply because I don't always have time. One of my 2011 goals is to photograph all my cards before they go out.
These cards are a little more 'clean and simple' than I might do if I were making a single card for a friend, or cards that I wanted to sell (another 2011 goal; try to sell some of my cards). Although cost effectiveness is a factor in that decision, it is more based on just not wanting to spend more than 10 minutes on a card.
The cards are just lightly coloured in with pencil crayon. They didn't need a great deal of colouring, but I didn't like the look of them left blank.
And now, I have a confession to make.
I don't actually measure my patterned paper when I'm making cards for church, especially when I need multiples. I go into my scrap patterned paper stash, pull out a bunch of sraps that go together, and then choose a base colour I like that matches.
I simply lay the different scrap pieces on the card base, eyeball, and cut 'em down until I have shapes and sizes that look good together.
The details:
Cardstock: Old Olive, Real Red (Stampin Up!), Patterned Paper: Top - Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey ), Bottom - Scenic Route; Ink: Old Olive (Stampin' Up!) Stamp: Sidekick Sayings (Stampin Up!)
I can't for the life of me remember the name of the line this Scenic Route paper came from. All I remember is that after I bought it I realized I didn't love it as much as I though I did - it was a bit too distressed for me; it looked like I'd rolled over it with my wheelchair. It's bad enough when I actually do that... ask me about the square envelopes I had to replace just before Christmas.... or better yet, don't... LOL.
One more set of cards to come. The pics are on a friend's camera (I forgot mine; made them up in Parksville while hanging out with her one afernoon close to Christmas) and I am just waiting for her to send them to me.

Oh so beautiful - I love pink Christmas cards! Happy New Year to you!
How lovely! Happy New Year!!
These are wonderful! So sweet of you to make these for the SS teachers, I know from experience this group gets left out at a lot of things and they give so much.
these are great! I love cards that are easy to make and can just be tweaked and easily mass produced!
**btw...The Card A Day is available at Chapters in Canada, as that's where I got mine from ;) **
Happy New Year. Lovely cards.
Those cards are so great! What a good use of scraps. I'm addicted to using scraps too. I just can't seem to throw then out, knowing I can use them at some point in the future!
These cards are beautiful! I tend not to measure either. I even have a habit of glueing the top layer on and then cutting the bottom layer so that it is the right size. Hey, I like to live dangerously. :)
Great cards! I love seeing non traditional colors used for holidays! Happy new year! :-)
Pretty cards!! I like them.... I'm so card impaired!
