June Love Bug Blog Hop

Welcome to Lovebug scrapbooking's "INSPIRE US" blog hop! Our blog hops take place on the last Saturday of every month. Thanks so much for joining us!

If you just happened by this blog and didn't realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking http://www.lovebugscrapbooking.wordpress.com/ and start the Hop. You won't want to miss all the inspiration from our members.... or the prizes :-)

Our theme for June is "Here Comes The Bride."

I have two things to share with you today.

Last year, on July 25,2009, my dear brother got married to a wonderful young woman and I had the honor and priviledge of reading at their wedding ceremony. The reading was as follows:

Why Marriage?
by Mari Nichols-Haining

Because to the depths of me, I long to love one person,
With all my heart, my soul, my mind, my body....
Because I need a forever friend to trust with the intimacies of me,
Who won't hold them against me,
Who loves me when I'm unlikeable,
Who sees the small child in me, and
Who looks for the divine potential in me....
Because I need to cuddle in the warmth of the night
With someone who thanks God for me,
With someone I feel blessed to hold.....
Because marriage means opportunity
To grow in love and friendship.
Because marriage is a discipline
To be added to a list of achievements
Because marriages do not fail, people fail
When they enter into marriage
Expecting another to make them whole....
Because, knowing this,
I promise myself to take full responsibility
For my spiritual, mental and physical wholeness
I create me, I take half of the responsibility for my marriage.
Together we create our marriage...
Because of this understanding
The possibilities are limitless.

I'd intended to make them a full scrapbook, but in the end they were given one and so it was unnecessary. Was kinda bummed about that at first, because I really wanted to give them something for their wedding that was 'keepsake-y' and crafty, until a friend suggested a single framed scrapbook page. Together we came up with this:

CS: Bazzill; PP: Basic Grey, Ribbon: Stampin Up! Brads: unknown (could be BG or Memory Makers)
This blog hop will run from today, June 26th until June 29th. We will be drawing for winners on June 30th on the Lovebug Blog. Be sure to check and see if you're a WINNER! Follow along in our blog hop! Your next stop is Dee's blog: http://fignie.blogspot.com/
