VC Rocks - Celebrate the Old

Welcome! It's time for the first VC Rocks Blog Hop of 2015. I'm glad to be back for my third summer playing with the Rockers. VC stands for Virtual Convention. It is a group for those of us who love Stampin' Up - many of whom are demos, be it sales or hobby - to chat and craft. We have blog hops, challenges, swaps, virtual make & takes... it is a LOT of fun. We  even have 'hotels' where we get a 'roomie' and we can send them a RAK package. There is still time to join if you are interested. It's free  it's fun. Just pop over to the website & check it out. That will also give you a chance to see the rest of the other bloggers who are taking part in today's hop.

Today I have four cards for you. I admit these are cards that have been sitting in my 'cards & layouts' folder, awaiting a time when I'd have a chance to blog them. Our blog hop coordinator said we could use any product that either is retiring in June 2015 (from this current catalogue) or older products that have been retired for a few  years. I have a mix of both for you today.

My first card uses a stamp set and some colours that are only just retiring this year. The tamp set is A Round Array. These stamps make a great little embellishment on a card. Sometimes when I have a big image or scene I want to stamp, a small sentiment is perfect. Note the patterned paper. It is from last year's Occassios catalogue. I believe it was called Fresh Prints, and it features both Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar. I think SU may be carrying over the wood veneer shapes and the chevron ribbon, but check with your demonstrator.

These next two cards feature one of my all time favorite sets: Feelin' Sentimental. That phone booth is totally a Tardis; I don't care what anyone says! The background on the Tardis card is make by using the Acrylic Block Technique; simply ink up your block, spritz with water, and stamp directly on to your paper.

My final card is the oldest one of the bunch. The flowers are made using a very old set called Looks like Spring. I no longer own this set, as I just fell out of love with it. It came with a matching punch which for some reason I had difficulty using. The sentiment is from Lexicon of Love, which I am pretty sure I still have in my stash. It's one of my favorite sentiment sets & thus is on the list of stamps which I intend to keep forever. The colours used in the card are retired now, too.

Such a fun group of cards. Definitely celebrating the old!

Nice cards! The second card reminds of when I was a kid and would see someone ride up the road on a bike like that. Not a common bike to see in the 70's.
