Cupcake Craft Challenge 234

I made this card for Cupcake Craft Challenge #234 - Mythical Creatures.

I have to say it feels good to have a challenge completed on time, especially this particular challenge.  When I first saw the theme, Mythical Creatures, my initial reaction was to not even attempt it. I knew that none of my stamps, save maybe my gnomes, would fit the theme. And I knew that I didn't know where my gnome set was at this point - I am in the process of reorganizing my stamps.

Well, in the process of cleaning up this week, I went through one section of my stash and was reminded that I had some images stamped and ready to be used to make full cards. One of them was this super cute elf image from Pink Cat Studios. It was part of a card that got a big tear in the back panel somehow. Originally, the card was the size of the white panel. I cut the card in half along the score line and mounted the card front on to a new card base. I offset the image panel because I wanted more space between it and the sentiment stamping.

I thought about buying this stamp when it first came to the scrapbook store where I shop. In the end, I decided against it because as cute as the image was, I knew I wouldn't get enough use out of it to justify the purchase. I couldn't see using this adorable stamp for cards to be given to people who attend our church. Ultimately, I may well give in, because that little elf is adorable. And so much fun to colour!
