The card I am posting today was orginally going to be for the bling challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long. I totally lost track of the due date, though, and the thread at their blog is closed. Oh well... real life got in the way. That and the fact that I still have too many unfinished challenges on my 'to do' list. I may have to drop some or save them for later.
The card was made using sketch 91 from the There She Goes blog. I haven't found a sentiment I like to go in the green area... as soon as I do I'll stamp something there... maybe add a brad or two as well to frame it.
Here's a close up of how I coloured the image.
The light was not as good as I had hoped so the sparkle isn't as easy to see as I wanted. The snow, the middle child's clothing and the scarf of the girl on the right were all coloured with Smooch ink. In real life it looks fantastic.
The rest of the ciolouring was done using SU! watercolour crayons and a blender pen. The crayons belong to a friend.... I have to admit they were fun to play with and now I have yet another item to add to my SU! wish list. The dog is a reddish brown colour in real life. Or maybe it's more a brownish red. I can't decide. Let's just say he's not as red as Clifford and not as brown as my cousin J's dog and leave it at that! LOL. Regardless of what you call the colour, I made it mixing red, yellow and orange.... there may even be a bit of green in there as well.
Tomorrow's goal is to make more Christmas cards. I've signed up for the Christmas Card Challenge 2011 at Splitcoast Stampers.
I said I'd do 6/month.
That was my first one.
It's a good thing I'm a fan of clean and simple. That's my only hope of getting caught up by March 31.
