Lovebug Blog Hop

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking's "INSPIRE US!" blog hop!!

Our blog hops NORMALLY take place on the last Saturday of every month. This month we decided to go a week earlier, so you could get some Halloween inspiration before the holiday :-)

Thanks so much for joining us!If you just happened by this blog and didn't realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking http://www.lovebugscrapbooking.wordpress.com/}} and start the Hop. You won't want to miss all the ispiration from our members....... or the prizes :-)

Our theme for October is HALLOWEEN!

Although I loved Halloween as a child, I don't think I appreciated it quite as much as I do now. I have so many good memories of trick or treating, coming home and sorting/trading my candy (I'd give mom stuff I didn't like and she'd give me stuff from her leftover stash, because she always bought lots... we both have a sweet tooth), and then having a big bonfire and fireworks either at our place or at my aunt's next door.
As I get older, I almost enjoy it more... it's so much fun to see my cousin, her friends, and various other kids I know all decked out. And, in past years we have had a tradition of having a Halloween party for cousin J. and her friends. I had intended to post a layout of that tradtion, but I realized last night that the pages are already in my J's scrapbook, which she has at home. If only I could say that I had pages in some of my albums....

So instead I will share with you a cute card I made a year or two ago at a Stampin' Up partyThanks to Susan, my demo, who taught us how to make Frankenstein...

As I look at this card, I am not 100% it is the one I made - at one time I had two, one made by me and one my friend Allison made for me because I couldn't attend her party, although I put an order in. I recall mine had a very wonky mouth and I didn' t like it as much as the one Allison gave me.
He's made with punches... all products Stampin' Up. Here's a recipe:

Card base: Pumpkin Pie cs;
Hair:: Basic Black cs, corner rounder for top two corners and scallop border punch to create the look of his hairline;
Face: Old Olive cs, oval punch for nose and ears; Whisper white cs and oval punch for eyes and basic black 1/2" circle punch for pupils; the 'bolts' are brads;
Mouth/Scar: free hand, using Basic Black marker
All in all he was pretty easy to make and I think my 5 year old honorary niece, who was born on Halloween, will love receiving him as her birthday card this year.
Thanks for looking and please leave me a comment!
Thisis blog hop will run from today, October 23rd until October 25th. We will be drawing for winners on October 26th. Follow along in our blog hop! Your next stop is Tanya's blog www.knpplbrg.wordpress.com
